The Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) has accused former director Jakob Scharf for revealing confidential information to the public and filed charges against him on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The intelligence service says Scharf breached a confidentiality agreement when he was interviewed for a new book dubbed "Seven Years for PET" without getting the agency's approval, according to The Local Denmark news outlet. The book's release was blocked by the PET through an injunction last week.

The PET withdrew the injunction against the book on Tuesday saying that it can no longer be enforced after a Danish newspaper has published the whole book in a special section on Sunday, but said that it has filed official charges against Scharf.

Scharf who left PET in 2013, has denied revealing any secret information and claimed that the publisher has oversold the contents of the book in order to market it.
