JOINT OPERATIONS IN WESTERN NINEVAH PROVINCE DETAIN 16
MOSUL, Iraq - Iraqi National Guard soldiers and Multi-National Force Soldiers detained 16 suspected anti-Iraqi force members and numerous weapons and ammunition during an operation in Tall Afar around 5 a.m. Aug 1.
Iraqi National Guard soldiers, supported by Stryker Brigade Soldiers conducted a series of cordon and searches through out Tall Afar.
ING and MNF Soldiers confiscated numerous unauthorized weapons including, AK-47s, rifles and rocket propelled grenade launchers with rounds. Soldiers also confiscated grenades and ammunition for machine guns and AK-47s.
The suspected AIF members were taken to a military facility for questioning.
