THREE MARINES KILLED IN ACTION
Al ANBAR PROVINCE, Iraq -- Three Marines assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force were killed in action Thursday, Dec 23 while conducting security and stabilization operations in the Al Anbar Province.
I MEF force protection measures preclude the release of any information that could aid enemy personnel in assessing the effectiveness or lack thereof with regards to their tactics, techniques and procedures. The release of more details about the incident could place our personnel at greater risk.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
