Soldier and Airman killed in IED attack (Correction to A050928b and A050928c)

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A Multi-National Corps-Iraq Soldier and Airman were killed and another Soldier was wounded Sept. 28 at approximately 11:45 a.m. when their convoy was struck by an improvised explosive device near Safwan, in southeast Iraq near the Kuwait border.
The names of the service members are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The incident is under investigation.

ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE: Press releases A050928b and A050928c contained erroneous information. There were not separate incidents as previously released. There was only one incident in the vicinity of Safwan, as stated above, which resulted in the death of two service members and another service member wounded.
