China hopes the U.S. could play a constructive role in Asia-Pacific region instead of stirig up enmity and disharmony, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on a regular press conference Tuesday.
The U.S. expects to enhance collaboration with Asean countries and demonstrate its support for Asean to maintain maritime rights and to avoid militarization and conflicts, U.S. ambassador to Thailand Glyn T. Davies told The Nation in an interview on Jan.22, 2016.
Hua Chunying, a Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, said at the press conference that the U.S. official is not the representative of the ASEAN countries and she would not make a comment on this.
Hua said it is in the interests of all countries in Asia-Pacific region to maintain peace and stability. China hopes the U.S. could play a constructive role in Asia-Pacific instead of stirig up making mischief and stirring up trouble.
