o On September 29, the North Korean military held a rally for construction of 100,000 residential units in Pyongyang. According to a September 30 report, Kim Jong-il visited industrial and sports facilities in Pyongyang.
[Outside North Korea]
o The spokesperson for the North Korean Foreign Ministry argued on September 30, "We will strive for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in connection with U.S. policy toward North Korea and global denuclearization.”
[Inter-Korean Issues]
o Regarding the ‘grand bargain’ proposal made by South Korea, North Korea flatly said on September 30, “Such proposal does more harm than good as it follows the footsteps of the Vision-3000: Denuclearization and Openness.”
