Iran to launch navy drill in Strait of Hormuz, says MP

TEHRAN (ISNA) - An Iranian Parliament Member Parviz Sarvari said the country's armed forces are going to launch navy drill in Strait of Hormuz.

"The drill is one of the responses of the Islamic Republic of Iran to foreign threats," Sarvari told ISNA.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran cannot remain silent on threats of foreigners and we will use our potentials if they want to practice threats against Iran and the Strait of Hormuz is one of the potentials."

"Iranian armed forces are planning to implement the drill. The navy practice aims to defend Iran's peace and security and a response to enemy's threats."

"Iran will use all potentials to defend its soil. Striate of Hormuz is one of Iran's capabilities. If the Striate of Hormuz turns out to be a safe place for all countries but Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a response to threats within the framework of law," the member of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission added.
