Tehran, IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi held a joint meeting in Cairo, Egypt.
Araghchi attended a joint trilateral meeting with Abdelatty and Grossi on Tuesday.
The talks were originally scheduled for this morning but were delayed by approximately five hours due to Grossi's flight arriving late in Cairo.
Earlier today, Araghchi arrived in Cairo for a one-day official visit to engage in discussions with senior Egyptian leaders.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei had previously announced that Araghchi's regional tour would include visits to both Egypt and Tunisia.
During his time in Cairo, the foreign minister is also expected to meet with Grossi to finalize negotiations on a new framework for cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, he added.
