President felicitates Iraqi premier on re-election, renews support

Tehran, Nov 13, IRNA -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday felicitated Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on formation of new Iraqi government, terming it a great victory for Iraqi government, nation, parliament as well as the country’s political parties.
President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday.
'The Islamic Republic of Iran supports restoration of stability, development and economic prosperity of Iraq,' he said.
President Ahmadinejad said that Iran spares no effort to help broaden cooperation and relations with Iraq.
During the telephone conversation, the Iraqi premier, for his part, thanked Iran’s support from Iraqi government and its nation and said the Iraqi government calls for expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Al-Maliki hoped that formation of new Iraqi government would be helpful to make strides for economic development in order to render more services to Iraqi people.
