China to build Pakistan`s third nuclear reactor

Islamabad, Nov 3, IRNA - China will sign an agreement to build anothe 300 megawatt nuclear reactor in Pakistan, said a local newspaper here on Monday. This would be the second reactor to be built with China`s cooperation at Chashma in southern Pakistan. A Foreign Office Spokesman here said that the agreement between the two countries was to be signed during President General Pervez Musharraf`s on-going China visit, said Urdu newspaper Khabrain. The spokesman said that construction work on the project would be completed within six years. According to the daily, Beijing has already agreed to give Islamabad preferential status in order to narrow the widening trade gap between the two countries. MHA/TSH/211 End
